College/Career Readiness performance

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 requires that parents or guardians who have children attending a Title I school be notified of  how well their school is preparing its students for college and/or a career, as well as the school’s designation status under Georgia’s ESEA Flexibility Waiver.

Under Georgia’s ESEA Flexibility Waiver, certain Title I schools are designated as Reward, Priority, Focus, or Alert schools.  The Waiver also allows the use of the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), which serves as a comprehensive report card for all schools in Georgia.  The CCRPI provides a score between 0-100 for each school, and that score measures how well the school is doing in preparing its students to be successful in college and/or a career.

The Intradistrict Transfer Option allows a parent/guardian the option to request a transfer from the child’s assigned school to a school of the parent’s choice within the school district the child resides. However, this law does not apply to districts with only one school at each level. Oak Hill Middle is the only middle school in the Baldwin County School District.

Oak Hill Middle School’s CCRPI score for the 2012-2013 was 77.6. Additional information regarding the CCRPI can be found on the Georgia Department of Education website,

I am very proud to tell you that Oak Hill Middle School has been recognized as a “High-Progress” Title I Reward School. This means that Oak Hill Middle is among the 10% of Title I schools in the State that is making the most progress in improving the performance of the “all students” group over a number of years on the statewide assessments.

The most recent assessment data for the 2012-13 school year shows the following:

English/Language Arts 94% of students met or exceeded standards

Reading 95% of students met or exceeded standards

Math 83% of students met or exceeded standards

Coordinate Algebra 95% of students met or exceeded standards

Science 75% of students met or exceeded standards

Social Studies 78% of students met or exceeded standards
